Everyone wants to complete their traffic school requirements the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way possible. So, with this in mind, should you really take traffic school online? Is it really easier, faster, and cheaper to take on online traffic school instead of going to a classroom?
I’ve been reviewing online traffic schools for several years now on this website, but while walking my dog today I was wondering, is online traffic school really better than a classroom for most people? I’ve always just assumed taking traffic school online is way easier, faster, and cheaper. In reality, I haven’t been through a classroom based traffic school in very long time. Maybe it’s time to re-examine which is actually better?
Yup, Classroom Based Traffic School Is Still Boring
The first thing I wanted to verify is if classroom based traffic school is the same as always. Yes, it is. Sure, the videos are on DVD’s now instead of VHS’s, but it’s the same old thing. One instructor, lots of unhappy traffic offenders sitting in a classroom (probably when the A/C is broken), and 6 hours of your life that you’ll never get back. A lot does depend on your instructor. If you get someone with some personality, you might have fun and even learn a thing or two. But probably not.
It’s Way Harder To Cheat
One of the reasons taking traffic school online is so much better is because you can slack of during class and nobody cares. In fact, you can outright cheat and nobody cares. For example, if you’re going to take your online traffic school in California, you’re not even timed while taking the course. So, if you sign up for one of these top 6 fastest online traffic schools, you could be done in an hour tops. In other states, you may be required to spend a certain amount of time on the course through the use of timers, but they can’t prove whether you were watching TV or reading, can they? I think not.
Your Time Or Theirs?
If you take your traffic school online, you can complete it at your own pace either in little segments or all at once, your choice (assuming you’ve signed up for a legit online traffic school). Most classroom based traffic schools are either one or two classes, either on a weeknight or weekend. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could complete your traffic school on your own time? During your lunch break, on a Sunday morning, at midnight, or whenever YOU choose. You’re not going to get that with a classroom based course.
What About Price? Is It Cheaper Taking Traffic School Online?
Nope, an online traffic school is going to be cheaper than a classroom based traffic school. It’s way cheaper to offer an online based traffic school than a classroom based one, so naturally, the price is lower when taking it online.
What If I Want To Learn About Safe Driving?
Even if you want to take your traffic school seriously (hey, good for you!). Taking it online is probably a better option.
Online traffic schools try to make their courses interactive and fun. They add games, animations, and high-resolution videos in between lessons to keep engagement and improve memory retention.
Some more advanced platforms even cater to 3D driving simulations wherein you can “experience” real defensive driving scenarios without actually needing to drive.
They also ensure that they keep their resources updated to continue meeting state mandates.
People just tend to comprehend information better when it’s interactive. And this is coming from a driving instructor.
What About My Choices?
Since there are several online traffic schools available in the market, you’ll have plenty of choices to choose from. And although not every choice is recommended, you’ll still have flexibility in choosing how you’d like to learn.
Want some laughs while you take in concepts that are difficult to understand, you have MyImprov Traffic School and Comedy Traffic School for that. Their name suggests everything you can expect from these traffic schools. MyImprov was actually created in conjunction with the renowned Improv Comedy Club!
What if you want a more straightforward course? You have Traffic School 101’s pure text course format. And, iDriveSafely offers an easy-to-follow course format with videos and animations to explain complex concepts.
And if you’re trying to save up, you can always try GoToTrafficSchool, which is the most affordable option you’ll find.
Not everyone learns the same way, and in-person classes limit your learning to the usual class recitation, dictation, and quizzes. With an online traffic school, you’re the boss!
I mean, you’ll have the freedom to choose whichever appeals to you. Each school I’ve mentioned will fulfill your requirements for a traffic school as long as it’s approved in your state or you were given permission by your court handler to take the course.
Yeah, Ummm, Online Traffic School Wins
Quite frankly, I can’t think of one good reason for NOT taking your traffic school online. A classroom offers absolutely no benefits whatsoever in my opinion.
But hey, maybe you disagree with me and if so, I definitely want to hear from you! Let me know in the comment area below why you think a classroom based traffic school is better than taking your traffic school online. It’ll take a lot to convince me, but I’m all eyes!
